Who is Dr. Carol
Dr. Carol Williams is an internationally acclaimed concert organist, composer, and educator of Welsh musical heritage, now based in England and holding dual U.S. citizenship. Appointed Organist of Hull City Hall in 2026, she also holds the title San Diego Civic Organist Emerita, following her distinguished tenure as San Diego Civic Organist and Artistic Director of the Spreckels Organ Society. Her career thus spans two internationally renowned civic concert organs on both sides of the Atlantic.
A versatile international concert artist, Dr. Carol has performed as a featured organ soloist with orchestras including the BBC Concert Orchestra, San Diego Symphony Orchestra, and Beijing Symphony Orchestra, as well as appearing in major concert halls, cathedrals, and festivals throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, and Asia.
Renowned for her captivating performances, Dr. Carol combines virtuoso artistry with an engaging stage presence and a subtle, straight-faced British wit that has delighted audiences around the world. Classically trained yet consistently innovative, she brings the organ to new audiences through international concerts, recordings, broadcasts, educational outreach, and digital media.
Beyond the concert platform, Carol is a lifelong equestrian and passionate advocate for animal welfare. She regularly presents fundraising concerts for veterans and first responders.
Carol lives with her husband, Kerry Bell, a film producer, editor, writer, and U.S. Navy veteran. Together they create educational and inspirational documentaries and music programs that celebrate the organ, support charitable causes, and bring classical music to audiences worldwide.
